The Roland fountain which is originally named the Maximilian fountain is the oldest Bratislavas fountain dated back to 1527. Fountain it is located in the Bratislavas Main Square. Historical Significance of Roland Fountain The fountain was built as a memory of first coronation in Bratislava, which took place on 08.09.1563 of Hungarian King Maximilian II., from ruling mighty Habsburg dynasty.
