Benjamin Senec Ladybug Class Pond Life in Ladybug class Through singing, reading, observation of the wild, the games and dance we learned about life in the pond and about it as follows. Ducks, geese, and swans visit ponds. There are many smaller animals as well. Frogs, toads, and many insects begin their lives in ponds and live nearby after they are grown. Turtles, snakes, rats, salamanders, worms, and spiders, mosquitoes can also be found. Some animals live in the water, some live above the water and others live in the area surrounding the pond. Frogs - Frogs absorb water through their skin - Frogs can lay many eggs - Frogs have long back legs for jumping and swimming Panda Class During our “bee theme” I decided to put together some fun activities that show how bee are very useful, such as when making honey. We learned about the shape of honeycomb. Preschoolers tend to think of bees as bugs that sting, something to fear when we are playing outdoor. Poem: Five little bees, flying in the garden. One fell off and bang his head. Four little bees, flying in the garden. One fell off ang bang his head. Three little bees flying in the garden. One fell off and bang his head. Two little bees, flying in the garden. One fell off and bang his head. One little bee, flying in the garden she fell off and bang his head. Now, no more bees flying in the garden. Bunny Class Bunnies love art lessons. Therefore we are trying new techniques and materials. Do you know why art is so important? Via art we develop: personality intuition fantasy analytic thinking imagination This time we tried a new technique - paint with a palette knife. How much we enjoyed it while listening to Mozart you can see in our pictures. Creativity is: inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun. Mary Lou Cook Dolphin Class “A mother’s love endures through all.” —Washington Irving Mum, mummy, maminka, mama is no doubt the most spoken word in child’s vocabulary and is the most important person in child’s life. We wanted to make our mums feel special and some decided to create beautiful presents for them, we made our gifs with love – we wrote why we loved our mums so much for all the things they do for us and with us -hugging, loving, kissing and playing, we paid attention to every detail when coloring, cutting out and sticking the bouquet of flowers and we used our imagination to make original keychains with our names on them which our mummies can attach to their keys and have us with them all day every day. We love our mums so much and we can’t imagine our lives without their love and care. Benjamin Pezinok Unicorn Class May was a month focused on the life of animals and plants in the park. During our frequent walks in the parkin Pezinok, we observed how fast the ducklings grew. We were amazed by how magical they are, because their feathers don t get wet during swimming. We decided to try a similar experiment in our class as well. Using crayons, we colored the picture of a duck and then sprayed it with water. Afterwards we found out that the secret lies in the layer of smooth feathers, which keeps the water out and also helps the duck float. Moreover, these smart ducks produce a special type of oil, which they spread all over their feathers with the help of their beaks. Carebear Class I can not describe the sensation of water beads. Since we are talking about Pond Life this month, we set up our mini pond world in our classroom. For our Pond sensory bin we used blue and green water beads with aquarium plants, then we added in small rocks, foam lily pads with flowers, rubber ducks, frogs, snakes, spiders, snails, etc. This sensory bin we paired perfectly with the 6 little ducks and 5 little speckled frogs nursery rhymes, teaching frog life cycle, fishing for sounds, engaging in pretend play or simply exploring textures and materials. Trolls Class We enjoy Math counting in our class in various ways, as we believe that everyone can choose his/her individual way of understanding the numbers and Math operations. Children particularly like the bus game that belongs to Hejne Math methods. During this game children get the chance to use addition and subtraction in a playful way. All you have to do is to prepare something to be a bus, bus stops, passengers and it is great to have numbers, too. We prepare passengers waiting at the bus, going along some of them get on (so we add them) and some of them get off (that is a subtraction). At the last bus stop all people go off the bus (as it really happens and it is an a fact of travelling by bus that children learn, too). Kindergarten Class This month during our Math lessons we learned to use the Bee-Bot. This floor robot is a perfect digital educational toy, which can be programmed by children to move forward and back and turn left and right by pressing the corresponding arrow keys on its back. On a board with pictures students can program the Bee Bot to get it from one picture to another. Playing with the Bee Bot enables children to improve their skills in directional language, programming sequences, left and right 90 degree turns, problem solving, counting and estimation. It provides an opportunity to practice planning multiple steps forward and test if they planned it right. Children love to play with Bee Bot as it provides a simple and entertaining introduction to the ever-growing world of coding around us.
