BulDock Why pure HDPE The pure HDPE is the heart of the quality of our floating systems. High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is a thermoplastic polymer produced from the monomer ethylene. This material is with UV protection and anti-slip surface. All BulDock’s products are made of 100% high density polyethylene and come with a 10-year warranty. All modular systems are tested in different extreme conditions to make sure they are strong and save. The product portfolio includes cubes, half pins, connecting pins, spacers and sliding nuts. Because of their various configurations and applications, they are certain to satisfy any pontooning need. HDPE is known for its high strength-to-density ratio. The density of HDPE can range from 930 to 970 kg/m3. HDPE has little branching, giving it stronger intermolecular forces and tensile strength than LDPE. The difference in strength exceeds the difference in density, giving high density polyethylene a higher specific strength. This material is also harder and more opaque and can withstand higher temperatures (120 °C/248 °F for short periods). The pontoon modules manufactured by HDPE have a rigid shape, which makes it both unnecessary to inflate and vastly improves the resistance to loss of flotation, creating safer conditions for the user. The pontoon modules are also tolerant of significant relative pressure changes without substantial deformation or change in its shape.
